Inventor recovery file

I am using Inventor 2012 Professional and have recently had it crash on me several times for for no apparent reason, I get the Autodesk report box and nothing else. Is there a (very well hidden) recovery file similar to AutoCAD's .bak that can be used to recover lost data ? if not there should be, or at least Autodesk need to provide one in a hotfix or service pack because I can't find one anywhere ! Would have thought this was a given ?

you can look in the Old Versions folder where your files are.  There might be something in there you can use.
