I am endeavouring to make the slow transition from 13 years of MDT over to Inventor.
When I try to edit a driven dimension the edit box is greyed out.
Pic attached of problem.
Can anyone help please?
I have spent the last 3 hours searching these forums and generally online to no avail.
Thank you.

your dim is a driven dimension, meaning that it is determined by the geometery, rather than driving the geometry. Depending on the situation you can may be able to switch the dim to driving, using the button to toggle it. Ii can't recall where that button is in 2009 though.

see attached, it shows the location of the driven dim toggle.
in the series of pictures, the one leg of the triangle is switched from a driving dim to a driven dim, then the angle dim is switched to become drving.
one thing to note about the toggle is that it can be toggled on, resulting in all of yur dims being created as drven dims. if that happens just toggle it off.
hope this helps.

http://www.amazon.com/Introducing-Autodesk-Invento
it's a very good intro to Inventor book
