Inventor 7 start up license error

I just installed inventor 7. When I try to run the program for the first time I get this error on the screen "License could not be obtained. Please contact your dealer." I have not been able to run inventor for the first time yet to enter the serial and authorization code. Mechanical runs fine.

Hi Rosa..

Try this:

1) Ensure that the product is not running

2) Start Explorer and ensure that you can view hidden files and folders:

2.1) Select the Folder Options entry on the Tools menu, click the View tab, ensure that Show hidden files and folders is checked

2) Navigate to the following location using Explorer

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Macrovision\SafeCast\Product Licenses

3) Delete the appropriate license file:

For AIS 7 the file is named B1EC4000.DAT

For AIP 7 the file is named B1E56000.DAT

4) Run the product, a 15.1.54 error dialog will be displayed, follow the prompts to re-authorise.

RosaM,

Inventor 7 won't run on x64 Windows.
(The 1st Inventor release that supports x64 is 10.)
