Delete assembly constraints

If your constraint strategy or design requirements change, you can delete an assembly constraint.

In the browser, do the following:

   1. Click the plus sign (+) to expand components.
   2. Pause the cursor over the constraint to delete. The constrained parts are highlighted.
   3. Right-click the constraint, and then select Delete. The constraint is outlined with a red box and constrained features are highlighted.

TipAn alternate method for deleting a constraint is to select the constraint in the browser, and then press the Delete key.

In a complicated assembly, components can obscure the features or components whose constraints you want to delete. If you prefer, click the component in the graphics window to highlight it in the browser. Or in the browser, select the component, right-click, and then select Find in Window.
NoteIf you chose to display the contents of the browser using the Modeling View, constraints are listed under Constraints at the top of the browser. If you have difficulty determining which constraint applies to a component, display the browser contents using the Position View before you delete constraints.

if you have a lot of constraints to delete you can click the down arrow next to Assembly View at the top of the browser and go to Modeling View. (I hope I have that terminology correct - working from memory, which is going downhill...)

This will place all of your assembly constraints into a folder at the top of the browser.
