Edit the parts list in the drawing and use the column chooser to remove the column you don't want.

Removing the column from the parts list in the drawing does not remove it from the BOM.

I have the same question.  For instance, sometimes when I edit the drawing parts list, I want to be able to see the part numbers and maybe even the filenames of each item in the list.  But, I don't want either the part number or filename columns to be visible on the sheet.

It is possible to turn off the visibility of rows in a parts list, but we are wondering if it is also possible to turn off the visibility of columns.

    Hi richiesuk,

    Let's define terms first:

BOM = the table in the assembly that contains bill of materials info

Parts List = the table on the drawing that displays BOM info

With that said, I've not found a way to hide columns in a Parts List, other than using the Column Chooser to remove them.

I think the best approach is to format your parts list to show only the columns you want to show on the page, and then access the BOM editor to see and edit other columns (right click on the Parts List > Bill Of Materials).

The other trick I've used is to create an alternate parts list style that shows the columns, and then just switch the parts list to that style (select it then go to the Annotate tab > Styles pull down), then edit the parts list, then switch it back to the original style that doesn't show the "hidden" columns.

    I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
    Curtis

    Hi

Simple solution, change the column width to "1".
