Hi Guys,
Really dumb question, but is it possible to hide the dimension lines like in the attached picture?
Thanks,
Rob

This will seem odd, but it works...
You have to show that edge in the detail view that you are constraining to (either by Work Feature or Centerline, probably a Work Plane in your case). Dimension to it with a Linear Symmetric or Diameter Dimension, then turn off the visibility of the Work Feature or Centerline.

I do not believe the feature exists yet.
Here is a possible work around:
Instead of measuring from the gage. Create an offset plane half way between the gage & what you are measuring. Then use a linear diameter dimension which will give the same effect. make a custom dim style that won't include the diameter symbol in the dimension.

I think you can get what you want by adding the center line of the part to the view. You should be able to do that by right clicking and adding automatic centerlines. Then start a dimension and select the centerline first then the lin on the part right click and select linear diameter as shown in the picture. Then simply hide the centerline. Hope this helps.
