    Help With a Simulation

    I never worked with Inventor Simulation before and am having trouble running a simple Simulation. Hoping for some help from this group?

    I left a ZIP contains the necessary files for the simulation in "Customer Files" same subject "Help With a Simulation".

    I am tyring to determine the upward force imposed on the blue lift block by this mechanism when driven by a 63mm bore cylinder (20mm rod dia).
    It seems to be working but I don't know how to get the force I'm looking to the output graph?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Rick,

    You can calculate the value of upward force on lift block with "unknown force" functionality. Before invoking this command, please disable the imposed motion for cylindrical:2 joint and lock revolution degree of freedom for planar joint:9 since there are 2 degrees of freedom for this mechanism but "unknown force" only works under kinematic chains with one degree of mobility.
    Then you should specify the joint you want to dive to have a succession of static equilibriums and its final position, like the translational degree of freedom of cylindrical joint 2.

    Sorry I didn't notice you have uploaded your models in "customer files"
    forum. In the future, please feel free to put the models and questions in
