I have attached a frame that I created using frame generator using Inventor Pro 2012. I have played with frame generator for a bit and have used Mastering Autodesk Inventor 2012 by Waguespack and some you tube videos of Rob Cohee to help me create this frame.
If anyone has a bit of time and is interested, have a look and see if there is anything "wrong" or bad practice. We use this type of frame quite a bit here, so I would like to get a rock solid technique/process for creating these.
My questions are about the fork pockets on the bottom that intersect the frame width wise. In my sketch I had to separate the 2 longer tube sections because there is no trim function that would trim the 4x3 tube to both sides of the 10x4 tube.
Also the 4 bottom ends that need to be cut on 45 degrees, I used sketch and extrude to achieve that. Is there a better way?
Thanks

I have worked with the frame generator and have created some pretty complex frames.
I would love to take a look at this, but judging from the amount of files you have uploaded
I would say you need more then what you have. You need your assembly along with
all of the frame components. Looks like you only have the skeleton part and the assembly.

Hmmm, I figured that, the parts are 1.8 mb, just over the limit, know of a good spot to post them? Or I can send you files in an email.
I would prefer to post them somewhere so others can look also.
Thanks

What about compressing them into a zip file?

Your first sketch is not constrained (never a good sign).
It appears that there might be some obvious symmetry, yet the sketch is not symmetrical about the origin.
There are numerous duplicated dimensions that could be replaced with equal (=) constraints.

I have tried to compress the files but still too large, ~1.7 mb
I uploaded files to a free hosting site,
http://download72.myfilesdump.com/hosting/download
It is .rar file called frame.
I have looked at the sketch and haha, I guess I missed a few constraints. The frame is symmetrical in the XZ plane, but not is the YZ.
Also the ends with 45's, I looked at the miter but didn't see or understand how to apply a 45 without an adjacent frame piece.
Thanks
Enjoy the Weekend!

I still am working on this frame, I have remodeled it using the advice from previous posts. I am interested to see if there is anything wring with it. We use this frame for a quite a few projects. Various sizes of it to. I can email the files to anyone since there are just over the uploading limit for this forum.
thanks
