    Flexible Hinges

I am working on a hinged door assembly that consists of a frame sub-assembly, and 2 door panel sub-assemblies that each have 4 hinged sub-assemblies that I have made flexible. I am trying to figure out how to constrain these doors so that they "operate" correctly and not spin 360 degrees when I manipulate them in the overall assembly.

    Thanks for the help,

    Hi anderson51,

If you create a constraint limit in the subassembly, and then make the subassembly instances flexible at the top level assembly, I think you should get it to work:

    I hope this helps.

Hello, I keep getting an error message when trying to enter a min/max value. Don't know if it matters, but I have one of the hinge leafs grounded in the sub assembly?

Can you zip up and post your door and hinge assembly and parts?  What version of Inventor are you using?

I couldn't attached the entire assembly as it was too large of a file, but i did attached the parts in question.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi anderson51,

I just tested this using your files and it works as expected. Unfortunatly I can't post the files back due to the Inventor version I'm running at the moment, but here is a screen shot showing the selections and inputs for the angle constraint with limits on the hinge:
