When I try to save a flat pattern to dwg format using the default DWG Configuration; I repeatedly get the error message “Sketch export failed to initialize the document.”
There is not a problem if I choose the *.SAT option which makes me suspect that it is a configuration file problem.
Can anyone help please it is driving me quite mad!
I am running Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 32-Bit SP2

It occurs with any file, even a simple rectangular plate. Even If I create a configuration file and save it.
I have repaired the software to no avail. This has been a recurring problem for me with successive Inventor releases.
One day the export works another it doesn't.
I have attached one of the offending files for your kind attention.
Thank you.

I don't believe your part is modeled correctly - the sides in the flat are not perpendicular to the flat.
Where is the feature history to determine where you went wrong on the modeling.
The flat does save fine to dwg on my machine (2011).

For large files drag the red End of Part marker to the top of the browser hiding all features.
Save the file in a rolled up state.
In Windows Explorer right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Attach the resulting *.zip file here.
I am not having any trouble with the files you have attached - so the problem must be with your install.

Thank you for your further kind reply.
I too am pretty certain the problem is programme related.
I will un-install Inventor and re-install.
In the meantime thank you for your kind assistance.
Christopher
