Elsa Video Exchange Program and Warranty

Hi All, one of my customers had been using some of the older Elsa cards, and
had been dying on him. Now is sitting with 5 old cards.

PNY is offering a warranty program ( exchange ) for some of Elsa's dead
    cards.

Also offered on their web site is an upgrade ( exchange ) program for some
of the older workstation type cards.

There is a deadline on these programs. The warranty is good until December
31 2003, and the upgrade program until Dec 31 2002.

If you have dead cards laying around, this would be a good time to get them
exchanged, or possibly upgrade to Quadro 4 series.

Where did you see this on their website? I've been unable to find any
    mention of it.

Thank you. Now I can't believe I didn't see that.

    Beware!

There is confusion and typos on the promos page. I spoke to them on the
phone yesterday and am surprised they still haven't clarified the things in
the web page. The exact details are in the PDF documents you get from the
    links on that page.

The "Exchange Program" is for a FUNCTIONING card TRADE-IN. This program
has a very short list of eligible cards.

The "Upgrade Program" is for NON-FUNCTIONING cards. This program has a LONG
    list of eligible cards.

However, this may be moot since Aaron Friedman posted a link yesterday for a
promo which doesn't require an exchange of your current card. Here's the
direct link to CompUSA who is selling these cards - good through November.

        Apparently, everything you
read and come to believe is negated by one little phrase, buried 3 pages
deep, on one of the pdf files. I told them flat out, that I believe this to be a
deceptive and un-ethical approach to this and they blamed it on nvidia.
    (:-(

If not for the other deal, I
    would have bought a WidcatII,
    today. If you need
to toast a card, Wool Sox and Nylon Carpets work well. Been there, done that,
got the t-shirt (use it for wiping lathe ways).

    happy friday to all,

    darvin

ps. Have no idea where this replies to. Totally out
of space and time today. Hate bloating these threads with embeddings. Better go
back to the mill, keeps me grounded.<VBG>
