I have attached a hatch to a sketch on a layout view, but now I would like to edit the hatch or remove it and start again. How do I do this?

I don't know if this is what you looking for and also a little bit late, select the hatchbutton and then the hatch, so you can change or disable it.

I can't select the Hatch button, the "Fill/Hatch Sketch Region" button is greyed out when I am in the sketch

Are you sure you are in the right sketch, also in the sketch mode you can select other sketches for moving.

All I am trying to do is edit the scale of the hatch in the hole?

I see the green sketch line, but can't see projected geometry, did you use projected geometry?
I've tried do the same, see attached jpg.
If you sketch one line in a sketch you can use the hatch button, so it is strange that your button is greyed out.
Do you enter the sketch by double clicking on the sketch line?
