    We have seen something similar. Inventor with its segmented database doesn't appreciate network issues. We however usually see some message about trying to save an unamed part or some such thing. The ipt files save and the assembly just doesn't. If we check our switch ports they do show errors, but not very many. I'm not a network guru but apparently it is quite normal if you monitor you switch port to find occaisional dropped packets. If this gets excessive you will most likely have Inventor issues. - Rich Thomas

    Network Administrator - that's me amongst my
    many other titles (i.e. small business).  I asked him ( myself ) if he ( I
    ) knew the "cryptic commands" that you speak of however he ( I ) replied
    "no".  I guess I should consider replacing him (me).

    LOL. I hate it when the people I hire (myself) can't answer my questions. Makes me want to fire them (me) and hire someone else (I). Tough to run a business with only "three" good employees. ;-)

    Well good glad I could help LOL. We have had the most problems with the integrated 3COM chipsets on our mobos (3C905B-TX). The card we have had the best luck with is the Intel Pro100, both the B and the plus versions. These things rock, it might be worth testing. - Rich Thomas

    Look for a file same base name but newver or some thing like that added. IV6 makes this file during the save procedure. and it is your new file if it is saved. I found one arter a system crash I had. AUTODESK CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS.
