Okay I want to show a detail of a spline cut in a pulley. However I do not want to show the half circle on the main view or any of the broken lines on the detail.
Any ideas? I tried to make a sketch, project geometry and copy that geometry only to get an error.
Thanks

You can turn off the circle in the main view by editing the detail view and unchecking
Definition In Base View.
Not sure about the broken lines though... I don't seem to be able to select them.

To turn off the detail symbol in the parent view double click on the detail view, go to the Option tab, and turn off "Definition in Base View".
I'm not aware of any way to remove the broken lines in the detail view.

If by broken lines, you mean the "jaggy" lines, you can RMB and choose
rectangular fence before creating the Detail View and it won't have them.

I was thinking that he didn't want any lines that didn't identify an actual part edge.

Thanks, that definition did the trick.
I also learned about the square box option, did not work for me because I only want to show the spline detail, and the box shape forced me to select other objects.
I can live with the jagged lines.
Thanks again this was a big help.
