    Component Library Issues-R6SP1

There are a few things with the new library that are not good. First the "part locator" will not locate components in the assembly. I pick the option from the pulldown and I get the message "The active document doesn't contain any Autodesk Content Library parts". I know it does because I had just created them a few minutes prior. The next thing I notice is that the parts now all have the vendor filled in as "Autodesk, Inc." and there is no way of changing that stupid entry besides manually changing the property once you create the part. Not good. This field should be left blank. Last time I checked my purchasing department is not buying components from Autodesk. How can I build a BOM of components in my assembly and release production drawings with the vendor filled in as Autodesk? Up until now we left the stock parts bin items like screws with the vendor field blank. The last issue I have is the file name now does not match the part number. It added the server name before the part number when it saves it. Why? What was wrong with the way components were saved and the vendor name with the prior releases? Why is it every time a new release comes out the fastener components get a new naming convention, new way of accessing them and nothing relating back to the old way? I already have quite a few components on the network that are fine. Why can't the new component library be just a simple interface change istead of ripping its guts out and starting over again? No wonder quite a few users find the component library useless and rely on iparts more. Arrgh.
