    Breaking Dimensions in Inventor

Is there a way to break dimensions in Inventor like in Autocad? It automatically breaks around certain things, but I'm wondering if there is any way to control this.
    Please use plain text.

I think there is. As an example of what can be done
please see the attached. For the specific case you might have you need to
    provide some more info.

    Regards,

    Igor.

Thanks, but that is not what I was talking about. I have attached an example. What I am trying to do is control the break size so that the break extends beyond the dimension line on the 130 dimension. I would also like to be able to break the 130 extension line around the 65 dimension line.
    Please use plain text.

I see. Inventor does it automatically. Please have
a look at the attached. The variable "C" controls the gap between the dim text
and Dim line and although the offset from the dim line. That in return prevents
you from making the break larger without increasing the text offset from dim
    line.

    Igor.

So, there is no way then to break the extension line around the dimension line?

You are correct. Inventor does not have this capability at this time.

I don't think that there is a setting that you are looking for, but i do have a work around that might work for you.  Try doing this and see if it works for you.

    1. Edit Dimension (RMB) dialog box.

    2. Hit return to start a new line of text under your dimension.

    3. Now, hit your space bar only ONE time.  This will extend your whole text dialog box (its invisible to the user) down.  If that does not get you down far enough, that repeat steps 2 & 3.

    Good Luck
