    Bleed Thru Continues

    . . . and the bleed thru problem continues in printing and/or plotting even
    after SP1 is installed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hidden edges
    showing in shaded views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Do I need to show another example in CF??? I've been complaining about this
    since Beta 2!!!!!!!!!!! I thought this was to be fixed!!!! Shaded views
    are also looking very "cartoonish" with heavy black outlines and poor color
    quality!!!!!!!! I am going to post a sample in CF - material is white
    delrin - idw created in IV5.3 (or 5, or 4 - can't remember). The second
    sample (idw) was created just now - bleed thru gone. So it appears that
    shaded views in old (pre-IV6 SP1) idw's will not print/plot properly. Am I
    correct in my assumption?

    The graphics driver is fully certified.
    The graphics driver ID is NVIDIA Corporation\Quadro/AGP/SSE\1.2.2
    Graphics driver file nv4_disp.dll is version 5.13.01.1241
    Using Full optimization (this is the recommended setting)
    SwapType = 4
    Workarounds = 0x00000000
    Workarounds2 = 0x00000002
    The display is using 32-bit color

    HW Library Version = Win2K - $Revision: #3 $
    HW Library Date = $DateTime: 2002/11/11 13:09:54 $

    Options = 0
    Warning Options = 15

    Settings for optimized and conservative:
    SwapType: 4, 2
    Workarounds: 0x00000000, 0x00000000
    Workarounds2: 0x00000002, 0x00000040
    Text Options: 0x00000002, 0x00000000
    OpenGL Version: 12, 12
    Recommended Optimization Level: 2
    Texture Font Precision: 32
    Stroke Font Precision: 0.001000
    Driver Rating: 3
    Inventor Version Tested: 6070a

    Using OpenGL 1.1
    swap behavior: saveRestore(4)
    OpenGL errors: None.

    Mark,

    might want to save the Paint Shop Pro images as JPEGs. Not all of us have
    Paint Shop Pro...

    I'll have to check some of my older files. I do not see the bleed thru on
    files created in R6.

    Sorry - I meant to save them as JPEGs. Will redo. The bleed thru does not
    seem to happen on files created in R6 - only previous idw's.

    Can't say for the bleed thru but have to agree, Inventor 6 SP1 shaded views do look very cartoonish (great if this is required but possibly a wee bit unprofessional looking compared to IV5.3)

    I have a part that was created in R6 SP0.  In
    my first drawing using SP1 this morning,  I kept getting the bleed through
    in print preview and paper prints of one of the two shaded views I made of that
    part.  I edited the view and changed to hidden line removed and then
    changed again back to shaded.  That view now previews and prints with no
    bleed through.  I don't know if that process will consistently fix any
    views with bleed through, but you might want to try it.

    I believe that if you highlight the view in
    the browser and click on the Update button, it will accomplish the same
    thing--and you should not see any bleed-through when you print after doing the
    Update.

    Thanks.  I will try that on the next one that
    shows that problem.

    When I highlight the view in the browser, there is
    no Update button available that I can see.  I have tried RMB and pull
    downs.

    That does not help trails that bleed through.

    least on the first drawing I tried it on).  Hopefully it will continue to
    clear up this problem on the other drawings!  THANK YOU!!!!!!
