    Assembly Component Placement

    Hello,

I am working on a Electrical Control Panel, I have all my relays and such in place and I am now placing wire connectors in the assembly for my wiring harness, my question is how can I place these connectors in my current view and not out in space somewhere. For instance I have zoomed in to a relay socket, and I want to place a small ferrule to the socket, I have to zoom way out to place the ferrule, then zoom into it to pick the constraint, then I have to zoom out and back into my relay socket to constrain it too.

Wow, that hurts just typing, but anyway this seems way to time consuming, what are my options?

    Thank you in advance!

    Regards,

    Erik

    Hi egrigg,

If your view mode set to Perspective? If so setting it to Orthograpic might help.

If you go to the View tab and switch the view mode to Orthograpic to test this.

    I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

I changed from orthographic to perspective, this allows me to place the component in my current view, thank you!

This will save a huge amount of time.
