IDW Dimension Tools

From reading the posts I assume that I am out of luck on this, but if anyone has tips, they would be appreciated.
I want to write code to select a dimension (in an IDW), storing its D#, and value. I will output my values and calculated values as custom drawing properties that are used in the title block. I will then write functions to update my drawing properties based on retrieving the D#'s updated values. Can anyone read idw dimensions???
