I want to do the same thing. DOF does not seem to exist as a property for any of the objects in the API. The word "freedom" doesn't produce any result at all in the search section of the help file! The ability to check the completeness of mates in an assembly is, I believe, an important part of designing assemblies. I have this wish that holding down a key would change the colour of all components according to the degrees of freedom left. Underconstrained parts would stand out like (Edited by Moderator). Paul
