    idw to autocad-dwg

Does anyone know of a method/program that will “automatically” take an Inventor file *.idw and convert it to a *.dwg format? I don’t mean ‘Save as’ or batch-converting with Task Scheduler.

Our lazer/waterjet needs the cutting-drawing in dwg-format, and I need to have up-to-date dwg-drawings of the idw-drawings at all times. (For practical reasons we want to have dwg-versions for all idw - cutting drawing or not). Today we have to remember use “save as” everytime we create an idw, to make a dwg for the lazer. And when we make a revision we have to remember to make a new “save as” to overwrite the old dwg… But I find this to manually and mistakes happens…

    I am looking for a method/program:

    • that creates or overwrites the dwg everytime I save/close an idw (Is this not the case for dwf in Vault? We don’t have Vault yet… but is this possible with dwg also?)

    or (maybe even better)

    • a method/program that checks folders on the server if there is a new idw and creates a dwg-format from it. And If the idw is saved the “program” updates the dwg…

Hope this explains what I am after, and someone can give me some feedback
