I need an Inventor file converted to FBX format.
I've been using 3DS Max to import an IAM assembly but I've found that there are numerous errors with materials. Such as some colours being imported consistently wrong, and some objects being painted with a single material when it should have several.
For example, some pipes in my Inventor file are green. However, every time I import them into 3DS they turn bright orange. And some signs have text extruded from them which should appear white against a coloured background, but the text just takes on the colour of the background.
I also have a problem with entire parts dissapearing for no reason, this could be something to do with translucency? They're not just transparent in 3DS because I can't find them in the browser.
I've ticked the import inventor materials and material IDs options so they're not the problem. Is there any way around these colour issues? Do I need an update or new plugin?
I'm using 3DS Max 2009 and Inventor 2009.
Thanks,
Jamie.

Wrong Discussion group. Inventor questions shpould be posted here:
http://discussion.autodesk.com/forums/forum.jspa?f orumID=78
However, I'll answer the question. Inventor ( even 2011) does not
support the FBX format.

Yes I did. Repost your question in the discussion group link I provided.
However, you will probably get more help in the 3D Studio discussion
group. You will probably need to zip and attach all files in the proper
group. This group is rarely accessed.
