Create Flat Pattern of Auger Spiral

I have drawn an auger with several spirals using the coil command but cannot create a flat pattern of the shape. I planned to profile cut the flat pattern shape on a plasma cutter before stretching and welding it along a central cylinder.
Is it possible?
