    Pipe Import/Export

It's great that I can export a pipe network from Civil 3D (adding presure pipe export would be even greater) but why can't I import pipe networks back from the AIM IMX?

I know I can import a pipe network from a .shp file in C3D, which is a big help, but .shp isn't the only data format, and there's not an easy way to convert GIS file formats... C3D/Map only seem to push out the .sdf file, but bulk copying to other format types isn't easy.  So adding data related to pipe networks to AIM is helpful when it sits in another format other than a .shp, but there's not way to push it back out

Thoughts for additional data exchange formats?  I would think AIM could act as a good tool for moving data as import/export for other GIS formats and Autodesk design tools
