Meshed roads duplicate when refreshed

I seem to be running into some issues with the duplication of roads in Infrastructure Modeler. FIrstly, when loading a shape file of the roads to be meshed in AIM, the program doesn't always map out the meshed roads very precisely, which then forces many manual adjustment to the meshes in order to get them to line up properly. That being only a minor inconvenience, the major issue begins when anything in the model is refreshed. When refreshing, AIM reloads the the original shape file reference for the road, but instead of remembering the manual adjustments, it duplicates all the roads that have been altered, displaying both altered and originally problematic roads. Any suggestions on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

WRT "when loading a shape file of the roads to be meshed in AIM, the program doesn't always map out the meshed roads very precisely": are the used coordinate systems correct? do the road centerlines fit in other applications (e.g. Map3D)?
WRT "it duplicates all the roads that have been altered": this sounds odd; could you provide a sample test files (the original one & and the one containing some changes) showing this behavior? does that happen for you with all source files or with just specific ones (e.g., only the roads)?
