Would like area fill to work on raster images the way it does for vector images. May a one time 'Process image' function which detects the valid areas and stores them for later?

Have you found a way to fill on imported raster images. I am trying to figure out how to do that as well. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't believe there is a way to do this now, but you can still trace the images using the line tool with a fill applied to it. There is a landscape drawing I did in the gallery this way. It is suprisingly quick. Give it a try.
