the ability to hold down shift while filling is good... but if you accidentally miss a spot you shouldn't have to delete the fill and start all over. You should be able to select the existing fill, rt click, and have an option in the pop up that says 'add to existing fill'... then you can fill the areas you missed and they will act as if they belong to the original fill.
