I am in a similar dilemma as you. I have been able to import ESRI shape files along with their attribute data into AutoCad Land Desktop 2004, but have not been able to do so in AutoCad 2008. I have not been able to find a command similar to the Map > Import command under the Tools menu in AutoCad 2008.
