I have over 100 ArcInfo coverages that I needt to import into AutoCad ... (This in itself is time consuming) ... To complicate matters even more, I just need the Annotation Layer of the Coverages.
If I do this By hand ... It's going to take forever ... is there any way to streamline this? ... maybe even a batch import script ...
Any Ideas are welcomed ....
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi Chris,
I think you have posted this to the wrong group. You might have more luck
in:
autodesk.aec.land-desktop or autodesk.autocad.2000general
However, this looks like more of an export from ArcInfo type question,
rather than an import to AutoCAD.
Are you creating ArcInfo export files (E00), and using a translator (such as
FME) to create DWG files? Doing it this way, you could create the DWG file
with just the Annotation Layer. Even with about 100 coverages, this might
not take too long :-) However, translators can be expensive...
Or, are you creating DXF files from ArcInfo? And then importing into
AutoCAD? That way you would have to purge anything unwanted - this would be
time consuming, especially doing it over 100 times. Maybe one of my AutoCAD
colleagues will have a better way, or a way of automating this.
Let me know if you need this data in Autodesk GIS Design Server.
