move panel

I now place panels with imates.
If I want to move a panel, I can not drag  the panel.
If I select the panel, I get  to see the icon assemble.
I need to use the command move, but the panel is not staying on the XY plane.
Can I move the panel directly on the XY plane so that it remains on the XY plane?

Your drawings are only as good as the symbols that complete them...

Hi Jos -

Are you able to post a simple model? That would help us understand. A video would be really helpful too.

It should be the case that if you place the component and identify a landing surface, then have "snap to floor" enabled, that it should keep it attached to the XY plane (more specifically, the floor plane) when you drag it around.

As you can see in the picture i placed the panel with Snap to Floor.

But when i select the panel i get the assemble icon and can not move the panel.

In the browser you see there are no constraints.

Hi,

I was able to drag the panel parts freely and they stick to the floor. And I don't see the Assemble icon. How did you get the Assemble icon showing up?

Hi Jos,

The reason is that you are selecting the edge of the part now.Well, you need to set Select Component/Part Priority in the Component Priority list which are presented in the snapshot attached to this thread. Afterwards, you can select the component or part  firstly and then drag move the part.

Thanks,

-Xuesong

Please mark as a solution if somehow I got it right.

Thanks Xuesong

Selecting Part Priority is the wright solution.

Now it works great.
