Displaying levels of detail within Factory Library models

One of our resellers works heavily with Illogic, and is incorporating it into the Factory
design Suite Assets, but has a question I am not sure about. He would like to
know what the best way of displaying levels of detail within the models.

Can you easely switch a layout from "light presentation models" to "full detailed assets"? What's the prefered workflow to automate this action?

    Hi -

    Thanks for the question.

There really isn't a built-in way to do this, but using some conventions, along with some manual work, you could achieve it.

Essentially, you'd have to first establish such LODs within your assets, either using assembly assets or by adding both types of part-based assets.

Then, you can define an LOD in your layout assembly, and configure each LOD to select the desired LOD (or part) given each top-level LOD.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have followup questions.

    Cheers,

      Jeff
