What is the true purpose of having 2 seperate programs that do 90% of the same things?
I have to use EST for estimating, but I have to use CADmep to do the detailing.
Sure, I could use the CAD for estimating but then I'd still have to create a maj file and open it up in EST to get the Estimate Summary.
Also, ESTmep doesn't support the same most basic commands as CADmep. Copy in CAD, is "C" in EST. Erase in CADmep is E, but in EST there is no erase, you have to hit the delete button. To undo a command in CAD hit the button, or type undo, but in ESTmep, hold the ctrl button + z.
ITs frustrating and annoying, not to mention unproductive, when I hit "E" in ESTmep and nothing happens.
I'd like to see the ESTmep and CADmep combined as one program. Or at the very least, as both adds on to AutoCAD and AutoCAD MEP.
Thank you for reading and please hit the KUDO button if you agree with me.
