Nesting In Camduct 2014

hello all,

I have tride a lot of nesting in CAMDUCT without any success. The Requirement is simple, just want to import Multiples items & custom remnants from AutoCAD and automatically nest it and export the output to AutoCAD(.dwg or any Autocad supported ). I dont want the NC codes.

Just the Nested drawings.

For the sake of understanding i have attached the  dropbox link for CAD File, the below link will show the exact problem.

I would really appreciate any help on this issue.

What have you tried so far? (steps)

Have you added the Remnants in Sheet Management?

Can you post a small file of the DWG/DXF's of both the remnants and shapes you want cut? I'll be happy to test on my end.

I looked at the DXF....here's the basic steps.....

1) Configure the software to nest w/remnants

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-0D8E2FE8-AD06-4DD8-A186-1368359F9812

2) Load the DXF's for the remnant's into the software. (2nd part of the help file)

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-1755E464-9FBC-4A26-99E8-DDAFF298041B

3) Import the DXF parts

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-32AE0F8F-3C8F-4395-A059-C7BEC050AF4A

(you could also batch import them....http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-3FEF7AA3-EB84-4AF7-BE07-16A96B1B1F6A)

4) Edit the developments you imported to validate the geometry

5) Nest

Haven't had a chance to look yet but if you've not in the HVAC Duct manufacturing business, while you can get CAMduct to work for you, I'd suggest there are perhaps better nesting solutions for your industry....

http://striker-systems.com/

http://www.sigmanest.com/en-US/

http://www.hypertherm.com/en-us/Products/Automated_cutting/Nesting_software/

CAMduct is highly specialized primarily for HVAC Duct fabrication. It'll do what you're looking for but I don't think the workflow would be the most streamlined. I don't see Autodesk making any effort to expand CAMduct's focus into other areas but I could be wrong.

Obviously as this is the second such geneeral "Nesting" request I've seen, someone is promoting it for this purpose. However, if you're selling hammers, everything appears as a nail.

The other person who inquired recently is currently working and happy with Striker Systems since I've recommanded it to them.
