I am working on a Data Center and as you might imaging there are many many types of equipment (Groups and Types), many of which have as many as 20 UDF's applicable for each type of equipment.

As you might imagine, searching through as many as 200 possible UDF fields to select only those pertinent to a specific type of equipment is a real pain.

Thus I ask, is there a means by which equipment UDF's can be assigned to a particular Equipment Type such that if I am working on, say a Server as opposed to a PDU, or only those UDF pertaining to the Server would appear as an option?

Sure would make my life easier...

I agree with you wholeheartedly on this one. It's high on the enhancement list and you'll see some progress in the next version. The ultimate solution is already in the works, but it is a couple of releases down the road.

We'll see if Steve or Bob comes up with a workaround in the meantime.
