don't use it myself... lets see what they have to say... of course, as with
every software/hardware site, you never hear the straight-forward technical
    details...

what do the help files say? is this a program you pull up? or is it an
    add-on to autocad?

The largest selling cafm programs utilize a support path, an application loaded in some method, then additional menu items. Some will import the drawing into the application, then you loose the ability to edit the drawing later.

With the tools that FM:smileyfrustrated:ystems provides, you do use a support path and an integrated menu/toolbar. It then creates a bi-directional link from the drawing to the database through the use of polylines and tagged rooms. The Square Footage of rooms is calculated and populates the FM:smileyfrustrated:pace database.

You do NOT lose the ability to edit the drawing later. You can change anything about the drawing. A useful Drawing Check feature allows the user to ensure data integrity.
