Is Lithium better than NNTP? which is more easier to use? I haven't used NNTP so I don't have any idea..:catindifferent:

I think "easier" is in the eye of the beholder!

One method (NNTP) is mainly text based communication (which is basically what is happening on this forum) with the ability to attach pictures and other file types to your msgs.

What settings you would use for this forum could be different than other NNTP providers so it's not always just point/click and you're setup.

Web based forums such as the direction Autodesk has taken us provides us with more "bells and whistles" to enhance our textual communications.

The question is, do we really need all the bells and whistles to get our point across?

I can live with just plain text with the ability to attach files as needed.

The web interface to the forums adds unneeded fluff to what we are trying to accomplish here.

Fred used his feet to move the car.

Do we really need 8 cup holders as well?

Wonder how many other old threads are out there questioning the "new" Forum that were passed over?

To be fair, there was at least some Autodesk acknowledgement of some of the problems during the Lithium disaster, albeit of the "We're working hard to tinker round the edges" type rather than anything substantially useful like "Yes, you're all correct, it's junk, we're going to throw it away and start again". During the Jive disaster, nobody was prepared to put their heads above the parapet at all.
