Is Composer a true upgrade from Voloview3 or are they just different tools? It seems that Voloview hadles a wider range of markup options, but Composer integrates with 2005 products...

IMHO it really is a different tool. It focuses on DWF and specializes in getting the markups back into AutoCAD. There's a whole implied review cycle involving AutoCAD and Composer. Composer also lets you combine documents into one DWF. I think the upgrade pricing deal on Composer is really based on the fact that Autodesk wants to recognize and "give credit" to loyal users who have purchased Volo. It's as if they are giving them full credit for Volo when buying Composer. In that regard, these users got Volo for free.
