Every time I try to download DR it begins and then comes up with the failure notice 0x643 internal error. I successfully downloaded it before and now am trying to set it up on a new computer (Vista 64bit). What can I do?

I had a user getting download errors trying to get trueview, and we
blamed the autodesk site's download manager. I couldn't find a way to
uninstall it, so I just downloaded the Chrome browser and did a normal
download from there.
I don't like the sneaky download manager, the big download button is
pretty clear, but, if you want a normal save instead of the download
manager installing, you have to scroll down and find a link in a
paragraph of text.

Hi,
After installing or failing to install ADR 2010, there will be a .LOG file in the Windows Temp folder. Enter %temp% in the Explorer address bar and search for "Autodesk Design Review 2010.log". (Viewable in Notepad.) The last few entries will show what was installed and what failed to install. Can you tell me where the fail to install occurred?
Thank you,
Kevin

Most people like the power of the download manager, so it is the first
option for their convenience. The regular download is available as a second
option but the overwhelming majority use the first.

Indeed, I'll typically use a download manager without complaint... but,
when it errors out, I need a simple way to uninstall it.
In this case, I call that button sneaky, because I've had multiple users
now have errors with the d/l manager (likely due to a firewall or
something on our end, but, I don't have control over those things)...
These are very casual users, and trying to convince them not to click
the big download button isn't realistic... nor is telling them to
install a new browser to get around the error. And, with maybe 30 or so
users scattered around two campuses, it's not feasible for me to go do
it for them.
Just my opinion, but, I'd prefer two clear buttons in two cases... once
in the dwgtrueview page where Design Review is shown above TrueView even
though TrueView is the page we're going for... then two clear buttons
for the download manager or the normal download... like side by side,
not one above the other...
Thanks for listening.
Cheers!

For Inventor LT, we had two buttons.

You say that the download manager is the first choice for convienience but the regular download is....
I didn't see any such "second option" can you tell me about it or at least where I might look?
I'm trying to download 2012 and keep getting the error message: CRC failed in content\DC Library\Desktop Contents\VA12012_Inventor DIN.idz
I'm running under windows 7 and the 32 bit version will survive download but it won't install because it's a 64 bit operating system. The 64 bit version fails in the initial download process with the above error message.
Please let me know if you have a suggested solution.
Thanks
Wayne
