    Backing up my Buzzsaw data

Currently, one of my site admins has been downloading everything and burning it to a CD. Is is possible to get to the site from an FTP and/or can I run a backup of the data directly from the site. Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks,

There is an archive command that downloads
everything into a non-ProjectPoint form and saves it locally. This will not
change your bandwidth requirements, because it is still done locally, but at
least you would have all of your notes and discussions as HTML files instead of
them being in the Buzzsaw database. For a while Buzzsaw.com offered a CD
archiving service, but the expense did not justify the cost. I think they used
to charge $25 for a CD and then spent $250 of manpower to generate it. You can
use the ProjectPoint API to automatically download the contents of the site and
have that run at night. At least that way, your site admin wouldn't have to
observe/wait for the downloading. You could then burn the contents of the local
files to CD as you have been.

    Hello John,

As Scott mentioned, there is an archive feature built in to Buzzsaw. Simply right click the folder you wish to archive and choose the archive option from the menu.

If you need to have Autodesk perform the archive for you, please contact your Buzzsaw sales representative. The current cost (as of 06/13/03) for Buzzsaw archives is $500 per gigabyte or portion thereof. Archives are delivered on CD-ROM. Please note that the archive service does not provide indexing and does not include email.

Doesn't someone have a sample VB app that will do a
Buzzsaw site download? If you could share that, then users could schedule the
downloading and just burn CDs from local copies.
