I've always found drawing a short brick wall on the ledge simpler than
trying to edit a single wall to have a step. Particularly if the ledge will
have several different elevations. You could change the bottom offset in the
wall style to bring the brick down, but this works best when your wall has a
consistant brick ledge height.
...of course in Revit you just drag the bottom of the brick down. very cool.
