grid bubbles - resizing

I am trying to create a grid bubble object which will resize when I change the drawing scale. The only object I know of that resizes on demand is a dimension, so I tried creating a dimension style/leader with an attributed block. I can create the grid bubbles OK, but the attributes can't be edited.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can edit the attributes or use another method?

I am on the way out, just have one sec, but I would start with an elevation or section tag, since they change with the drawing scale. Think on that: I could be wrong, it's Sunday, lol.

You could use a custom Multi-View Block for the grid bubble tag that has multiple view blocks to support multiple scales. You would need to set up a Display Representation for each scale and then have associated Display Representation Sets and Display Configurations [DC]. If 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" [or 1:200, 1:100 and 1:50] are all you need to support, you could use the ootb display settings that the multi-scale room name tags use.

You would also have to manually change to the desired DC when you change drawing scales.

Yes, I thought about that, but the bubbles will scale about their insertion point. Using a dimension or leader should scale about the correct point.

what if you use the leader as you want to, and the dynamic block for the
bubble and the text and scale changes, plus move the bubble as the scale
changes. Make it so the bubble and text have an insertion point at the
bubble center point, the text is also middle-center justified, and by moving
the bubble as the scale changes, you keep the leader end point at the bottom
quadrant of the bubble.

Without actually doing it myself, would that work?

Or.....

Try your leader with a block at the end, but use Bob Kellerman's idea about
an elevation bubble for the grid bubble as your block.

This may not be as automatic as you like, but I have had success using the view block offset feature to modify the individual column bubbles as needed after the fact. For example, for a column bubble at the top of a sheet, I offset each of the view blocks so that the MVB insertion point is at the bottom quadrant of the bubble. That works well if you are not using a leader; if you are using a leader, and want to hold the top position of the bubble, you could offset the blocks such that the MVB insertion point was at the top quadrant of the bubble.

Attached is what I created for MV Block column bubbles.

What you will need to do is:

-- Copy ythe MV Blocks to your DWT,
-- Open Display Manager,
-- Browse to the Display Reps for MV Blocks,
-- Map the Display Reps to YOUR Display Configs correspondent to the correct plan scales.

As you will note in the block names, I have named the blocks per the scale they represent.
