eLockViolation

We have a user who is experiencing a weird error after using the image command. If the first thing the user does when opening the drawing is use "image" to insert an image, it works just fine. But if they draw anything on the drawing, then try the image command they get this error:
!u:\global\src\coreacad\corescr\Laymgr.cpp@955:eLockViolation

I'm assuming eLockViolation is referring to a lock for multithreading. The user has a single proc machine (AMD Athlon XP 2200+ w/ nForce motherboard). They are using Autocad Architectural Desktop 3.3 with windows 2000. Can anyone shed any light on this issue, or shluld I just tell them to remember to use the image command first thing?

Thanks,
Dusty
