Wall Cleanups

I have several conditions in my building model where intersecting walls have
different base "Z" elevations and overall wall heights. The "Wall Clean up"
does not seem to be working (have tried adjusting the cleanup radius but no
luck) Could anyone enlighten me about this?
Thanks,

Walls don't clean up unless their graph lines are at the same z elevation.
Depending on your requirements, you may be able to edit your walls' roof or
floor lines to get the results you want.

I don't believe the walls will cleanup if there baselines are at different Z
coordinates. Why are you doing this? There are other ways to get the bottom
or top of the wall at a different Z coordinate, such as the "Floor or Roof
line" option where you can project to a line or pline, or auto-project where
you can project to another AEC object. You could also adjust the style
setting under the Defaults tab, Offsets option, to use positive or negative
distances for the floor or roof line.

Thanks for the input. I am working with a residential building type that
has a Pier and Beam foundation, sloping grade, intersecting retaining walls,
etc. As the exterior grades and intersecting retaining walls change, the
foundation walls change accordingly.
I'll try the "project" approach and see if I can make this work.
Regards,
Todd

I have a drawing that has all the walls cleaned up in it before it is saved.

But, when I open it or use the batch plot program some of the walls are not
cleaned up. And I'm constantly using
the "objrelupdate" command to fix these walls.

Why is this happening?

Is there a setting to fix this?

I'm posting the drawing in "Customer-files in the newsgroup under the name
"Wall Cleanup-Dhr.

If anyone has an opportunity, please review this drawing and tell me what
I'm doing wrong.

there's a switch in the registry you can edit (search the ng for specifics)
or you can turn off demand loading (xloadctl=0)

Try OBRELUPDATE at command line.

Hi All,

I'm just going thru Paul Aubin's book (Mastering..) and am having a problem
with wall cleanups. In the commercial building supplied, there is an
interior curved wall that won't cleanup with other interior walls of the
same style or the exterior wall style. Automatic wall cleanup is on in the
wall styles definition, and the supplied finished cad file shows that indeed
the wall can be cleaned up. Any ideas?

Thanks

Autodesk you are really missing the boat when it
comes to the wall cleanup situation. There is no reason why a wall should not
clean itself up when you are using the same justification

and creating a simple corner!
