Tool Pallettes and Doors/Windows

Tool pallettes are great but one gripe I have with them is with Doors and
windows. Why do we need to pick a wall to insert the door/window. How many
people place a free standing one of these. The default should be to
automatically anchor to walls and give the option to place a free standing
item.

Opinions wanted so maybe this can be fixed in next release.

Let me add some insight to my reasons for this.

When adding a door from the TP then I want another style I click the type
from the TP...This starts the command again and asks for me to select the
wall. WHY.... I already did this. Same for Windows and Walls.

Maybe the solutions is while In the command the TP should detect if the same
command is running and just change the properties to the selected TP item.

How does that sound?

Ah, gotcha....yeah that would be a added plus, but, can't you do this from
the properties box while the command in progress??

that defeats the purpose of the Tool Pallettes. I have my typical size for
each style that it starts inserting at then I change the size as needed.

I agree, just a thought for an optional way to achieve the same thing. We
(the company) use 19 different doors, the 19 doors have a specific size and
type. I've created tools (and styles) for each one, for example. Our #1 door
is a 3068 entry door. #1s is a 3068 w/ 2 sidelites, and a #2 door is a 2668
interior door....and so on. Our windows are the same but use an "alpha
code"....(a system developed long ago, before my time.) creating individual
tool was the easiest way to go...so, I agree this would be a nice
feature....to be able to switch tools mid-stream of the same command.....
