Muntins, Hip Roofs, & Sky Lights

I would like to draw a 4' x 6'Skylight with a hip roof shape and a support frame for the glass. I need some suggestions on how to go about this. - Bob

You can also do it with a Roof slab. Make an edge style for the Frame, and
set the slab itself really thin and assign a glass material. I'll post to
Content NG.

If you cut a section through your skylight, you'll find that your edge
profiles are actually offset from the slab edge a bit.

This is really a pretty simple profile. While Edit In Place certainly has
it's advantages, sometimes you get a bit more control going back to "the
hard way".

I would suggest that you redefine your edge profile. Draw a rectangle that
represents the dimensions of your frame. Next, right click on it and select
"Convert to -> Profile". Specify an insertion point at the upper right
corner of the rectangle (you may want to experiment a bit - this will
determine where the profile shape is placed relative to the slab edge - you
might try in the mid point of the top edge of the profile, for example).
Specify "Existing" when prompted and overwrite your existing slab edge
profile definition.

You may also want to edit the slab edges themselves - I noticed that many of
them are set to a SQUARE orientation with an angle applied. Try going with
"PLUMB" and an angle of zero.

Does that help?

Hmmm... I will try to look further into it later this week if I can get some
time, however I'm beginning to think the muntins would be better done as
mass elements after all.
