Insulation width

Why is it that when I go into Details so I can draw some fiberglass
insulation in a section the pick widths are silly like 3". I have yet to
see a 3" steel or wood stud. I do not have ACCESS so how does one come up
with the widths required. Please do not suggest scaling. Sometimes I feel
like we're working with R1 Beta software.

Try under 09 Finishes > Acoustical Treatment > Acoustical Insulation.

Here you will find sizes available to you that are more in line with what
you would expect. Why is this? This Details module is really old, and has
not been enhanced in years. We know that there is a lot wrong with it. But
just know that you are preaching to the choir and a replacement for the
current Details is very high on the list for future features. No promises of
course....but we know.

I should clarify....

when I said "No enhancements in years" I meant no enhancements to the
materials list itself. We actually have steamlined the UI for Details in
2004. If you have ADT 3.3 or earlier, then you know that this was a major
improvement in appearance, although at the expense of loosing the handy
ability to edit materials from inside ADT.

Dick,
Email me a list of the sizes you would like to see and I'll add them and
send you back the file.

David:

Dennis McNeal pointed me at Finishes - Acoustic Ceilings - all the common
sizes I require are there. Thank you for the offer.
