Implementation poll

Am doing research into implementation of ADT04. Would like to see what has
been working and what has not. If any can spare the time I would like to get
some implementation stats...
-
1) Are you using the supplied default configuration for menus, toolbars, and
menu palletts; or are you "reverting" to something closer to the ADT3.3
menus, while accessing custom menu palletts for added functionality; or are
you "reverting" to something closer to the ADT3.3 menus and leaving the menu
palletts alone?.
-
1a) What training issues have you encountered due to your decision?
-
2) Are you converting to *stb's per the defaults in ADT04; or are you
staying with *.ctb's; or have you scrapped both in favor of individual
lineweights for individual entities?
-
2a) What collorbation issues have you seen due to this decision?
-
-
Some background questions to help seperate threads by usage:
1) What is the size of your firm? (ours consists of 130+/- persons).
2) Are you a multi-discipline firm? (ours consists of Architects, Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Landscape
Architecture, and Civil Engineering)
3) Do you work on Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Medical, Education,
or Government projects? (ours does all of the former)
4) How many of your projects require coordination/collaboration with firms
outside of your office? (ours is at about 20%+/-)

Here's hoping for the best...

I must say, I'm very impressed at the interest that has been shown here.

It may explain why we have discussions that go on and on about the "best"
way to do something within the product... People must be arguing their
preference without concern as to weather they are comparing apples to apples
or to oranges.

Sheesh, well, if your gonna throw a guilt trip on me 😉

Here you go:

Yes, mostly as-is, plus developing our own catalogues. But I am also
expanding on our custom button menu as well.

Very little. I sent an intern to class this summer at a local comm. college
since she wasn't that familiar with ADT3.3
The rest of us are playing by ear & haven't taken full advantage of ALL the
features.

We are having to stick with CTB's. Too much change is a bit overwhelming
for most people, and the STB route was slowing us down.

NA

Arch only

Comm, Med, Edu, and a little of the rest

Maybe 5 to 10%, more this year than last year

Hope this helps.

Well heck,
If I had known that was all that I had to do....

Here, I'll throw some of these things in to lighten it back up...;-)

We use the 2004 interface with some customization. Nothing closer or like
3.3

Just to get the users started I have had an introduction for 30 minutes.
Then I have followed that up with 1 full day teaching the news and other
things they needed.

CTB still. Have not had the time to investigate pro/cons to move to stb and
how that will affect all other disciplines that use AutoCAD 2004 and some
3:rd party applications like ProSteel and MagiCAD HPV / El.

The firm is 500+ and the ADT users are about 10. Other CAD users are so many
and we are a so fast growing company that I don't really know. About 150-200
I guess.

All except Landscape and Civil.

> 3) Do you work on Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Medical, Education,

Industrial, Medical, Off Shore, On Shore, Pharmaceutical.

> 4) How many of your projects require coordination/collaboration with firms

All more or less.
