How do I send reflected ceiling base plans to consultants...

I'm sorry to post this as a dumb question, but I never got any responses to
my post: "aecExportToAutoCAD2000 weirdness" in this newsgroup, with photos
in the CF newsgroup. Since the images are small, I will repost them with
this message.

I am assuming that people are doing one of the following things when sending
RCPs to their consultants:

1. They are not using the ADT ceiling grid objects or the 2x4 light fixture
blocks that came with DesignCenter (masking blocks).
or,
2. They are sending out their aecExportToAutoCAD2000 version files to
consultants with the 2x4 fixtures disappearing.
or,
3. They are sending out their aecExportToAutoCAD2000 version files to
consultants and redrawing the 2x4 fixtures since they all disappear. Very
time consuming, but I assume this is what I am supposed to do. (I thought I
was supposed to be increasing productivity with ADT...)

Interested in seeing if anybody has run across this anomaly. It certainly
can't be by design.

BTW - this applies to all masking block entities that came from
DesignCenter, i.e. roof hatch blocks, return/supply grilles, etc.

Assuming I'm able to convince the consultant to load the object enabler
(which for some reason is a major battle almost all the time; I guess they
just don't like typing the aecdisplaymanagerconfigsselection command.) I use
a display config that shields them from such, while still allowing the
drawing to be constructed of ADT objects.

I save my file with a display config that shows both plan and ceiling
objects. Everything is color by layer and objects are layered such that the
consultant can still manipulate the display using nothing but layers and
layer colors. The only thing they don't get is a header layer since there's
no such thing, but they usually want to see the door openings instead
anyway.

But we're still using 3.3. Are you saying that 2004 behaves differently?

It seems to be a bug in the AecExportToAutoCAD2000(2004) command(s). The
AecObjExplode command still works on them, though.

My experience with requiring consultants to use the Object Enablers is, that
I take on all their responsibility for their drawings being plotted
correctly. They either want full control of the base plan (in R14/R2000
vanilla format), or they won't do a thing to make it look good.

Does seem to be a bug within an otherwise great tool (Export to ACAD). Need
to account for those masking blocks. Hadn't notice it until you brought it
up.

I agree completely. I would like to see it extended with some of the
Etransmit functionality.

I'm just going to try to re-create my mask/mvBLOCKS and recreate my
backgrounds. Problem is, I've got to make the change to 15+ buildings (camp
project).
