HSB cad

Does anyone have experience with this product, my company is thinking of getting this, just curious if anyone has used it and what they think...
Thanks 🙂

What does your company do (what do you use or need cad for)? and what are you using now?

We use it.

Probably the most powerful software I've every used. Simply amazing. I use
the Timber module and the Wall module. Timber is pretty straigh-forward.
Walls takes some setup and practice.

email me with any questions.

I worked on a project with a consultant who uses it. They were supplying solely the timber frame portion of a custom home. From what I saw it was great for what they needed, like it automatically creates their wood to wood connections and they're able to export the 3-d model to some sort of timber CNC machine that cut exactly as drawn. Columb where you at?

He's a busy guy. Timbercraft Homes is another HSB user. I'm pretty sure
Craig would second my opinion.

Contact Danny Hansen at Struc-Soft Solutions, he's the North American rep
based in Montreal. dh@hsb-cad.com This is expensive software.

I've had some exp. with it. They last time I knew they had to packages, one for timeber framers, and the other for Structural Panels. Both are pretty awesome packages, very expensive. I know Riverbend Timberframe, and Insulspan Panels out of Michigan use HSB. If your a "production" base company, it would be real consideration.

Thanks guys for all the comments 🙂
We are a modular building manufacturer, and the higher ups in the company have decided that this along with a panel machine and a humdinger saw will make the company run more efficiently, so they just bought the Timber and Panel modules.
I have talked to both Randy Laplante and Danny Hansen, both guys were very helpful (for obvious reasons on their part)...
Well sounds like to me this is a very good program, just looking at a web site and seeing a short demo online its hard to get a really good feeling about something and your comments are a great reassurance that this program is worthwhile... even though it does cost a small mint...
Again thanks... Tony

Once you are into a panel machine and a Hundegger, HSB isn't *that*
expensive. And if you've got a panel machine and Hundegger, the power of
the software becomes something you can realize.

Cool Cameron. I didn't know MiTek has gotten into ADT design software and
export to Hundegger. Thnaks.

Tony- There are others if you are trying to assess design software.
CadWorks, Deitrichts (sp) and TimberCAD. Check out the Timber Framers Guild
for links at www.tfguild.org

Could I be so bold as to ask around how much you paid for it? I saw a web
demo of it some time back before they really started selling in the US. It
was very impressive, but the price tag was astronomically high at the time.
