Drawing file turning read only after open read write worked on and saved. Why?

I have two projects that have a problem with files being allowed to open read write and allowed to work on. Then a save occurs and the files show up read only and we cannot save any continued work with first exiting and reopening the file.

Scenario: both projects are in office A, with people working on the project in offices A, B, C and D. Also, in one of these offices we have people using ABS in Project Navigator referencing the Arch backgrounds.

What is happening, is we are allowed to open a drawing and work. Then we save the drawing and it turns into a read only drawing file. The drawing is only opened once as read write but after the save it tells the person the file is now read only.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thanks for the help.

HELP!  We are having the same issue in our office with ACA 2013.  One person has it open and someone else opens it, no message, but then person A suddenly has a read-only copy that cannot be saved.  Also the scenario that one person has a file open and saves and then it becomes 'read-only'.

What is this about?   (Windows based server located files.)  Win 7 64 bit workstations.

Talk with your I.T., AutoCAD only grabs files released by the OS/Server that are 'available'.
